A Two Hawk Morning

Exciting morning! It was overcast and gloomy this morning. I was getting ready to let the dogs out when I saw a Red-shouldered Hawk sitting on the fence. By the time I got my camera, it was taking off. I followed where it went, and to my surprise, it flew up to another one in a tree in the back yard. It only stayed there for a few seconds before taking off again. But the other one stayed. I let the dogs out, but I went outside with them to make sure the hawk didn’t decide they looked delicious. It stayed there for a while, looking at me and then them and then back at me again before taking off to find the other one. My lens fogged over, so the photos are a bit blurry, but I was really surprised that one stayed as long as it did.

I have always know there were two of them, because I could hear them calling back and forth to each other. But, this is the first time I have seen both of them.

Some mornings are just better than others!
